Quote from one of my favorite books.

"The gospel is a thing of joy.  It provides us with a reason for gladness.  Of course there are times of sorrow.  Of course there are hours of concern and anxiety.  We all worry.  But the Lord has told us to lift our hearts and rejoice."

"One bright and Shining Hope: Messages for Women" from Gordon B. Hinckley

  1. Gail,
Just read this tonight, and then happened upon this scripture as I was studying. I had to send it to you. It's from Lamentations 3. When darkness or trials feel all consuming, his compassion fails not. And you are a beautiful example of hope and quietly waiting upon the Lord. You deserve happiness, light and blessings.
22 It is of the Lord’s mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.
23 They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.
24The Lord is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in him.
25The Lord is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeketh him.
26 It is good that a man should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the Lord.
A wise sister in our ward shared something with me a couple weeks ago that was truly profound. She said that while working through her trials, she felt the Lord's mercy, but it didn't feel "tender." You know my experiences, I love and relate to the prophet Micah's wisdom, "When I fall, I will arise. When I sit in darkness, the Lord shall be a light unto me."
    Love,
    Amy
